Goodwood Tyre Pressure Guide
Fast, flowing and committed. Over-pressure can make the car feel nervous as speeds rise.
Pressure gain at Goodwood
There is no single cold PSI that works for every car at Goodwood. The right answer depends on tyre, car weight, drivetrain, alignment, driver pace and weather. Use cold pressure as the starting point and hot pressure as the result you tune around.
What to watch
- Check pressures immediately after a proper run, before the tyres cool.
- Compare front and rear pressure gain rather than only looking at one tyre.
- Make notes about traffic, session length and whether the lap was representative.
Typical hot pressure targets
Most road-legal track tyres and semi-slicks tend to work somewhere in the high-20s to low-30s PSI hot. Start conservative, then let the car tell you what it wants.
Suggested paddock workflow
- Set a calculated cold baseline.
- Run several representative laps.
- Measure hot pressures as soon as you stop.
- Bleed to target hot pressure.
- Record the session so your next visit starts closer.
Tip: If the car feels good early in the session and then loses bite, check whether the tyres have gone beyond their useful hot pressure window.
